The challenge

Travel memories are commonly scattered across photo libraries, map pins, and note apps, while travel social networks push itineraries, check-ins, and feeds. Elsepath explores a quieter alternative: click a country, keep the one photo worth keeping and a line about why, and watch the map fill in.

What was built

• Use an interactive world map as the primary way to browse and update travel history, with each continent in its own colour.
• Keep each country entry intentionally concise: a visited date, one image, and a note of up to 200 characters.
• Cover all 193 UN member states, including the ones too small to render on the map, so progress percentages are honest.
• Add light gamification: continent progress, achievements, an explorer score, and a plate hunt for collecting regional licence-plate codes.

Product decisions

• Make the world map the central product interaction.
• Keep entries private by default with no public profile, sharing feature, analytics, or tracking.
• Let users delete a single memory or everything in two clicks, including uploaded images.
• Limit the information model to details that support a quick memory of each trip.
